Winter CarnivalWinter Carnival's 100th anniversary celebration is February 10 through 13, 2011
In honor of the event's history, students are planning a Carnival Ball, a snow sculpture contest, a student-curated exhibition of Winter Carnival artifacts, and a snow castle on the Green inspired by a sculpture created in 1929. Read more about Carnival (student organizers are pictured at left), and watch the sculpture's progress via the Baker Tower webcam.

Jim Collins '84 wrote about Carnival in the current issue of Yankee magazine, calling the event "the singular way that Dartmouth has been thumbing its nose at winter for the past 100 years."

Also, share your own photos of Carnival snow sculptures on Dartmouth's Facebook page.
