sfRecord number of students apply to Class of 2014
In the past decade applications to Dartmouth have nearly doubled, from 10,188 in 2000 to 18,778 in 2010. This year's 11.5 percent acceptance rate is the most selective in the College's history. Read more about this year's application process.

The 2,165 accepted students have until May 1 to submit their intent to enroll at Dartmouth. The admissions office is reaching out to the potential '14s with a lighthearted welcome video (left), five other video messages including a song by the Dodecaphonics, the Dimensions program on campus, and the Class of 2014 website.

konBoard of Trustees announces Stephen Mandel '78 as chair, elects new members
Mandel, managing director of Lone Pine Capital LLC, "is a devoted alumnus who will offer strong and steady leadership," said Board Chair Ed Haldeman '70, who will end his three-year term June 13, 2010. President Jim Yong Kim said Haldeman's contribution to the College "simply cannot be overstated."

The Board also elected Morton Kondracke '60 and John Replogle '88 as Trustees following a nomination vote by alumni.

konNew Association of Alumni executive committee elected
Elected officers include John Mathias '69; Veree Hawkins Brown '93; Douglas Keare '56, Thayer '57, Tuck '57; and Lynne Hamel Gaudet '81. More than 30 percent of the alumni body participated in the election.

The classes of 1960 (50th) and 1980 (30th) are two of the 12 classes celebrating reunions this spring. Last year more than 4,300 alumni and their family members and guests came to campus. Bring your family—more than 900 children of alumni participated in the 2009 reunion program for kids.
