speakerPortraits of leadership: 2011 Student Marshals
College Photographer Joseph Mehling '69 turned his lens on this year's 17 Student Marshals, who are selected by their peers for their citizenship, enthusiasm, positive impact on others, and integrity of character. The nine undergraduate and eight advanced degree Marshals, including Caitlin Johnson '10, Thayer '11, (far left) and Tommy Brothers '11 (left), will lead their classmates during Commencement's academic procession.

Commencement will be broadcast live on the Dartmouth website beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, June 12. Writer and late-night talk show host Conan O'Brien will deliver the Commencement address .


nchip 2011 Honorary degree recipients include President George H.W. Bush, two members of the 50th Reunion Class of 1961
In addition to President Bush, the nine individuals to receive an honorary degree at 2011 Commencement include philanthropist and retired executive Russell A. Boss '61, and brain scientist Michael S. Gazzaniga '61.

nchip On national television, Dartmouth rugby upsets Army to win USA 7s Collegiate Rugby Championship
Coached by Alexander Magleby '00, the team went 6-0 in the weekend tournament, which was televised on NBC.

Major appointments at Dartmouth
Dartmouth recently announced six major appointments, including (above from left) Paul Danos, who was reappointed to a fifth term as dean of the Tuck School of Business; Vice President for Development Tom Herbert; Dean of the College Charlotte H. Johnson; Vice President for Human Resources Myron McCoo; Director of the Hood Museum of Art Michael R. Taylor; and Vice President for Communications Roddy Olvera Young.
