Join an all-Dartmouth hike of the Appalachian Trail on October 10
Over 200 alumni including David Ransom '54 (8 miles in Vermont), Sally Johnson '81 (6 miles in Massachusetts), Steve Lough '87 (6 miles in Virginia) are participating. Students are hoping for about 100 more alumni
volunteers (especially for sections south of Roanoke, Virginia) to cover the entire trail.
Grab your hiking boots and be part of this historic effort.

Video: 16th President James Wright throws out the first pitch at Fenway Park
Wright, who was recognized by the Red Sox on June 6 for his work with military veterans, was also honored August 18 by Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) at its national convention in Arizona. The VFW gave Wright the Gold Medal of Merit for his founding of the Severely Injured Military Veterans: Fulfilling Their Dreams program. Wright and his wife Susan DeBevoise Wright will be making their first visit to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France this September.

Fall for Dartmouth (Homecoming is October 23-25)
This year's events include talks with the head coaches of Big Green athletic teams, Reunions for the Classes of 1939 and 1944, an admissions workshop for children of alumni, and tours of Baker Library Tower.
